A nice slice of England in Eagan Minnesota. This is a pub in the best sense: it’s a great place to meet friends and enjoy good food and good drink. The bangers and mash are excellent, as are the pasties and the fish and chips. Everything we’ve tried on the menu has been delicious.
They have fun specials like whiskey, Wednesday, among others. They frequently host live music at night and rugby games during the World Cup.
Came in for "British Pub Food" and was not disappointed. Bangers and Mash are top notch with really solid sausages and gravy. Speyside pie was interesting. Scotch egg was pretty good and can be served warm or cold. Mac n cheese (w bacon) was tasty but really heavy- I would have liked some onions or something to lighen it up a touch.
Cocktails from the bar were surprisingly sugary - I like sweet but the martini was close to sipping maple syrup.
Atmosphere is pretty basic and THAT IS FINE! We're there for the food, not to see how many knickknacks can be jammed in every vertical space. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There's still half a dozen more things on the menu we want to try so we'll definitely be back and will be pulling Egan Arms into our regular routine.
So inviting and love the holiday decorations. The service was very accommodating and knowledgeable and the food was amazing! Highly recommended the British style fish and chips (with malted vinegar), the Scotch egg, and the Sausage Rolls. Super filling and delicious and I can't wait to come back for brunch to try their English breakfast!
Their website is GORGEOUS 😍 and we had high hopes since it's the sister restaurant to Merlin's Rest but we weren't blown away by the location (it's in a strip mall and can't quite shake off that vibe) and the service at the bar was atrocious. 😒 I would put the service we got from the bartender as a step above rude. His whole attitude was surely "put upon". Like dude...pretend (for money!) that you don't hate your job. We had talked about staying for another drink, but since he was acting like he was doing us a favor in the first place, we passed on that. The food was pretty good, but it couldn't overcome all that.
I will say that the fish was REALLY good. Firm and flavorful. The pasty had a nice crust and an okay filling/onion gravy.
This is a fun restaurant with some very tasty foods and beers. I enjoyed the fish and chips. I wish they offered a few more gluten free items for my family who have Celiac, but other than that, it's an excellent place to eat! I'd love to go back and try more dishes.
Really enjoyable! The food was delicious and the service was great. We will definitely return.
EDIT: I'm adding more info as we have returned (a couple more times🙂) The portions are very generous. I had the hummous wrap with chicken and no dressing. It's delicious! And huge! I always get the brussel sprouts and they are a salty, garlicky, balsamic delight! YUM! My husband ordered the Reuben and tater tots and enjoyed every last morsel of them.
The food is fantastic and the service goes above and beyond! I have a disabled husband and they are always quick to make sure he is seated where he is comfortable and they take care of his walker. We started going on Monday nights for supper and video bingo and we have a blast!!!!
The cheese chips and gravy was an appetizer that could pass as an entree as it’s very heavy and delicious. The burgers were average at best and I regretted BLT trying something more authentic so that’s on me.
